I beaded your words

around my summer-tanned ankle,

even tried them on my toes

not comfortable.

But these were just the bauble words.

Real meanings, clouded as opal,

you misered in a hidden place

forcing me to search, excavate

for what I craved.

Understanding, I adorned myself,

put your words on my fingers,

around my neck, flaunting gleefully

these utterings from your soul

to harbour as my own
